Quality Controller / Chief Inspector, Permanent

Our client is looking for an experienced Quality Controller / Chief Inspector to join their progressive and dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a positive, self-motivated, experienced mechanical engineer with an extensive knowledge of machining techniques and processes and all of the related gauging and measurement equipment required for verification. They will have experience of BS EN 9001:2008/9100:2003, have experience of CMM equipment and be computer literate with Microsoft Office programs.

The duties of the role include Goods-In Inspection (mainly of jobs for honing and sub-contracted items), Goods-Out inspection, Patrol Inspection, Contract Review assistance and improvements, Processing and analysis of NCR’s using 5Why, 8D and PIR reports. Also, Internal Calibration, Engineering assistance and improvements alongside the Works Manager and generally assisting the shop floor and management team in the smooth operation of the workshop.

The position is full-time and permanent and an immediate start is available.

The working week is Mon-Fri 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with a total break of 50 minutes. This can be taken to suit the employee as long as current legislation is met.

Holidays are 20 days plus Bank Holidays. The company requests that three days are reserved to ensure a full Christmas shutdown, however, the company usually contributes an extra day or two in order to achieve a full shutdown from the 23rd of December to the 3rd of January.

There is a stakeholder pension scheme available as well as a range of other options. Salary can be paid weekly or monthly.

Salary level will be dependent on the level of experience and knowledge that the candidate can bring.
